From the President:
The City of Coquitlam is currently working on a new key access program for Eagle Mountain.
The new system will be a Bluetooth-based with a smartphone app. All gate openings, and closings (or lack thereof), are logged. This will mean that all pass holders are accountable for the state of affairs. Technology logistics will be shared in due course.
Costs will likely be an annual fee of a small amount, 10 bucks? maybe.
It is expected that the new system will be announced in the next two weeks.
In the meantime, if you don’t have a key, you can’t get one.
For those who have a key, and the new system kicks in, we return our key and will receive $39 bucks or so, if memory serves. Then, we buy into the new annual pass.
Those that don’t have a key, wait a couple of weeks for the new program or wheel with a friend.
Please remember that we continue to wheel here at the good graces of the City and the Ministry. It’s important that we always wheel responsibly, stay on the trails, and NOT use the backdoor access to Eagle. Our activity in this area is under constant scrutiny, and access going forward relies on ALL of us countering the negative image many people have of off-roaders.
