4WDABC Train the Trainer Program

It is with great pleasure and excitement that the Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia is able to officially announce the opportunity for members to apply for an off-road training course being held this coming September 10th-14th, 2018 in the Lower Mainland, BC.

The 4WDABC will be bringing in instructors from the International 4 Wheel Drive Trainers Association (I4WDTA) to teach a selection of 4WDABC members the ultimate skills in off-road knowledge. This 5 day course is designed to be strenuous, intense, contain both practical and theoretical instruction and in the end, leave students with a wide and thorough off-road understanding.

This course is not designed for beginners who wish to learn more about their vehicles or get more comfortable in tricky terrains. Rather, this course will challenge 20 individuals to the extremes of their off-road experience in a complete variety of scenarios, equipment and challenges. Those selected can expect to be pushed and challenged.

This course is designed for 4WDABC members to obtain a skill set to be able to conduct training sessions at a later date for 4WDABC members. While there is a cost associated with the course, there will be remunerations provided when instructing future training sessions. All that successfully complete the course will receive an I4WDTA Course Completion certificate.

The goal of this training program is to have 20 individuals with a strong foundation in off-road skills and knowledge for which the 4WDABC can work with in the future to develop and teach an assortment of training courses to our wider membership. These trained individuals will be vital in expanding our Education portfolio and bringing greater opportunities to our entire membership to receive the training they need to be competent and wise off-road enthusiasts.

The I4WDTA has offered to provide instructors for this course as part of their expanding desire to bring safety and knowledge to off-road communities around the world. Their offer to provide instruction for such a course exclusively for members of the 4WDABC is a major compliment to the Association, its objectives and mandate.

If you find this course exciting but are unable to apply at this time, perhaps you would be interested further down the line – send your feedback to training@4wdabc.ca so that we can work together to create an outstanding training program, with an international reputation!
